Is this a good idea for a veteran of the Army to join the Navy Reserve?
I was a skydiver in the 82nd Airborne Division. My MOS (14S) was in Avengers in the Air Defense Artillery. Having been in combat arms and be out of service for more than 7 years if the Marine Reserve to be something that we should consider? My recruiter told me it could possibly go full-time support and that Yeoman had experience in setting military office (I crossed the line for a seat in the battery in my office for a few months). I was told I can go right to active Navy, because I have far too dependent, a woman and three children. I really want to do something if I can bring into service so that you can withdraw from it, but I will in the army where I'll be away from my family for long. If you want the best answer, do not forget to indicate your answer well and not just say "Go for it" or "Are you stupid or something.
From what I heard the Navy is not really what is easy for anyone to get now ... service before or not. Could not hurt to try however. Good luck!
