Help the First World War. American history.?
During the time of the First World War, which of these was not quite right? A. Germans, reinforced by the armies that fought on the Russian front, decided to make a supreme effort to end the war before U.S. troops could arrive in large numbers. B. Germans reached a point thirty-five miles from Paris, but the French government remained there. C. The German army continued to attack, but were arrested July 17, 1918. D. General Foch launched a counterattack against the Germans. With U.S. aid resumed the offensive Foch August 15, 1918. E. The German Emperor has resigned November 9, 1918 and the armistice was signed in a car Foch in the forest of Compiegne. Know LONG'm having more problems with that. If you could help me it would be nice.
A. I think that probably refer to the spring offensive Ludendorff, who was the final push Germans to win the war. B. I am not sure of this figure, although certainly it was near Paris, C. I'm not sure what point I am inclined to say no thats not right because is more of a turn of the tide against the Germans, so do not know who could pinpoint a specific date when this occurred was noted. The war continued until the armistice, which is not til November 11, 1918 ... D. Not sure when, but Foch had launched an attack against against the Germans with American help, the E. The abdication of Emperor Wilhelm was announced by Prince Max von Baden, ON November 9, 1918 (it is in the constitution of the Weimar Republic!) But I'm not that Kaiser had a complete agreement on that date. I hope it is useful, and these sites below should also be helpful ... http://www.historylearningsite.co.uk/german_spring_offensive_of_1918.htm http:// www.firstworldwar.com / source / abdication.htm http://www.ww1westernfront.gov.au/compiegne/armistice.html
