When the idea from the biblical hell, not days modern Christians think it is real?

When the biblical idea come from hell, and why Christians still believe today is the reality? About what has been the force they acquire for the first time as a general Christian belief, and that first promoted?

The Christian concept of hell as a place of eternal fire torture does not come from Christ. Christians who say they do not know nothing about the religion of Jesus, who was / is Judaism. Jesus did not redefine the hell. He spoke and purifying what is happening, according to beliefs of Judaism. Many Jews believe (not all sects are the same and not all are the same Christian demonminations) Sheol (hell) is a land of the dead (the grave) go where good and bad. In Sheol (Hebrew word for hell) is a process of purification (described as burning) that may last several months (not always) that purifies the soul and prepares the person for the resurrection will take place after the arrival of the Messiah. In Shoel good people are together (they met in Abraham or the breast of his father, etc.) and the wicked are separated from them. Everyone sleeps in the grave - are not fully aware. Sometimes a soul is bad and can not be purified. These people have a second death in hell. Many Christians do not really know anything about the religion of worship. So confused and use their imagination to fill in the blanks of what I do not understand. The Christian concept of hell came from pagan beliefs and was greatly reinforced by the Inferi book of Dante.
