Looking for info on WW1 veteran?
My great grandfather was in the Austrian army during WW1 and fought against the Russians. His name was Michael Buczak and he later joined the Polish army. How can i find out the name of his regiment and the battles he was involved in?
He didn't live in the US. He stayed in Poland until 1939 when he and my grandad were captured by the Russians and sent to Siberia.
I wish people would actually read the question properly - AUSTRIAN not AUSTRALIAN! I am not sure how you would go about finding out about your Grandfather, but the only thing I can suggest is to ask this question on The Great War Forum. The website is dedicated to WW1 and although I think it is mostly British soldiers, there are people on there who have a wealth of knowledge and hopefully will point you in the right direction.
